Swensen’s Delectable Delight!

So my boyfriend finally took a day off from all of his script-writing and song-writing work today, and took me to one of my favourite restaurants, Swensen’s! I hadn’t gone there in a really long time, so I thought it was really nice of Latif to take me there for dinner on one of his days off, which are incredibly seldom.

We went to the outlet in Tampines Mall, since it’s near my workplace, which he had picked me up from work at a few hours earlier. I hadn’t tried Swensen’s Mac N’ Cheese before and was dying to have a taste, so I went ahead and ordered that. He ordered Fish Baked Rice. It took nearly half an hour for our food to arrive, which was really annoying, but we just shrugged it off since it was a full house!

The Mac N’ Cheese was okay, but I didn’t know they had mushrooms! If you didn’t know already, I hate mushrooms. I don’t like the taste, the smell and probably everything about it. I ended up giving it to Latif, who ate them gladly. His Baked Rice was okay too, but I think the rice was too dry? Latif loved it though, so maybe it’s just me.

We had only gone there once before this since we started dating, and we didn’t have ice-cream for desert then. This time however, we had a Cookie Summit! We only ordered one, since the glass was really tall and there were tons of ice cream with many different chocolate delights in there! YUM! Latif finished it up for me. The entire meal cost us about $50. It was definitely worth it, though.

Before sending me back home, we went to an Apple store and looked around. Ever since the new 120GB iPod Classic came out a few months ago, I have been dying to have one. I was browsing it at the store when Latif came up to me and told me that he was getting it for me at the end of the month. I was confused and was like, “What for?” And he shrugged, “Just because.” I was ecstatic! :D I’m sure most of you would probably wonder why I wouldn’t just have the iPod Touch, which is probably better? Well if you must know, I’m all about the space/storage. I love having tons of music and videos in one go!

I’m exhausted, but I had a great time. I hope Latif’s next day off won’t be that far away from now.

    That’s so nice that he gave you the iPod! I’d also choose the iPod with more space.

    i feel 100% the same way about the ipod space is key not flash.

    so i was snooping ;) and i had a look at your about page, and we have something slightly odd in common.

    You are from Singapore. My neighbour, sadly passed a few years ago in 2005 and who’s remaining family has since moved,was once the president of Singapore. Devan Nair, and his family were very close with my father. I had moved out the same year that they had moved in next door.

    Small world, ;) I have heard nothing but amazing things about your country. My Cousin was living in Korea and visited Singapore and she loved it.

    I have never heard of that restaurant but I went to their site and it looks pretty yummy to be honest! :o I also hate mushrooms, I can’t stand to even look at them. Why would you put mushrooms in mac ‘n’ cheese?!?! Ugh!

    Sounds like a pretty good day to me. Half an hour isn’t actually that bad a wait if it’s a busy restaraunt. But then I’ve had a few bad experiences lol. And my boyfriend and I have a tendancy now to order an appy too.

    I’m with you on the ipod thing…other then the fact that I’m not an ipod user lol. I’ve got a Sansa, but it’s not nearly that big! I hope you enjoy it when you get it!!

    I have the 120GB classic & the iphone. I love the classic more because it has more space & the battery lasts a LOT longer. Good choice!

    oh I love the look and sound of the cookie summit!! I want one lol Wish we had that restaurant over here. Wow that is a pretty good “just because” gift you bf is getting you =) hope you enjoy it when you get it, I would love a new one my little nano is getting to small to hold all my songs.

    I want an iPod touch so bad. I think that might be my next purchase. I have a video iPod and I love it.. It’s my favorite thing in the world. I’m glad you guys got to hang out.

    I really want to go out to a restaurant now, I love eating out. I love it more when someone is treating me and I don’t have to pay.

    YAY for good, spontaneous days… mmm, I LOVE Mushrooms, but probably not with mac and cheese, blech… although I don’t much like mac and cheese lol.

    For such easy looking meals, I’m surprised it took that long to serve you. Were they busy perhaps? I’ve never heard of the restaurant before either. I wonder if they have one near me or if it’s a regional thing.

    But mushrooms are awesome! Stuffed, baked, fried, even raw – I love ‘em. lol
