Grr…

My final semester has been incredibly stressful!

1) I found out that I’d have to finish my syllabus for this one particular subject that I absolutely hate from the very beginning. I took that subject during our first semester and apparently, there are still 8 topics the lecturer have yet to cover! So, to “make up” for that extra topics, I would have to sit through 14 weeks of the same class I took in the first semester. Grr.

2) One of my lecturers gave me an incredibly tedious assignment to finish. It was assigned to me last month and I have still yet to find even one book as reference! :dead:

I feel so tempted to list more, but I’ll stop here for now. :dead:

The Billy Elliot Boy.

I’m in week four of my five-week semester holiday, and apart from spending some quality time with my mom and working on my sites, the past three weeks have been boring. I had actually planned to spend some awesome time with my friends, but the thing about studying in different universities in different countries is that you don’t tend to have breaks/vacations at the same time! Bleh. :( And to add to that, the boyfriend has been busy as well. He has been in and out of town for the past month to finish the album, so it has been rather difficult to find time to get together. He’s actually in KL right now and will be through Friday. Let’s hope we might be able to spend a little bit of time after that, before I have to go back to school.

I spent a few hours before bed last night watching Billy Elliot. It’s definitely not the kind of movie I usually watch, but Jamie Bell was the title character so I rented the DVD. :P The movie was interesting and Jamie did an incredibly great job portraying Billy, but my favourite part was the ending, which I think is one of the best endings I have ever seen for a movie. It was just so emotionally empowering. That absolute pride in his father’s face and the tears in his eyes, the music and Billy’s powerful entrance – the whole scene just gave me chills and goosebumps. It was a really, really good end to the movie.

And this particular scene/ending is apparently on YouTube. I don’t usually embed videos on my blog, but I guess there’s always a first for everything? :P You might have to turn your volume up a notch to watch it. ;)

The actor who portrayed 25 year-old Billy is Adam Cooper, who is apparently a professional dancer. For a moment there, I thought I saw Jonathan Rhys Meyers, haha.

In other news, I am still impatiently waiting for my Ugly Betty DVD in the mail. It has been two weeks since I bought it on eBay, I think. I hope it didn’t get thrown out at sea or something on the way here, haha. Oh, and speaking of online orders, Amazon doesn’t ship to Singapore! I wanted to buy the Val Emmich albums that I don’t have yet off there, but eh. :grumpy:

I think I’ve blogged enough. Have a good week!

It’s a Masquerade!

After hours of labour work (not really), I’ve finally successfully put up a new theme. And with that, come brand new smileys! These are definitely not my favourite set of smileys, but eh, they will do for now. Besides, I have yet to find cute ones. :P

The theme was quite easy to install and tweak, although the “italic” and “bold” visuals wouldn’t show up on the posts automatically like they should be, which bumped me because I rely on them both for blogging. So I took matters to my hands and edited the stylesheet manually using the HTML “font-weight” and “font-style” codes. Haha. Everything looks much better now!

Moving on, I managed to buy the new album yesterday. And to be honest, I’m not really impressed. I think there are only like, 4-5 songs that I really, really like, and they are the only ones that I tend to put on repeat. “Straight Through My Heart” is one of them – I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, though I still don’t get the video? I’m not really good in actually reviewing an album, but all in all, I wish there would be more awesome songs in This Is Us. :( But then again, it’s probably just me. Perhaps my expectations were too high?

I think those are all. Another boring entry, I know. But like I said, I am trying to update more often. ;) I’m going to go and have This Is Us another listen, especially of the other songs. Who knows, I might grow to like the album after all.

Have a great week, everyone!
