Swensen’s Delectable Delight!

So my boyfriend finally took a day off from all of his script-writing and song-writing work today, and took me to one of my favourite restaurants, Swensen’s! I hadn’t gone there in a really long time, so I thought it was really nice of Latif to take me there for dinner on one of his days off, which are incredibly seldom.

We went to the outlet in Tampines Mall, since it’s near my workplace, which he had picked me up from work at a few hours earlier. I hadn’t tried Swensen’s Mac N’ Cheese before and was dying to have a taste, so I went ahead and ordered that. He ordered Fish Baked Rice. It took nearly half an hour for our food to arrive, which was really annoying, but we just shrugged it off since it was a full house!

The Mac N’ Cheese was okay, but I didn’t know they had mushrooms! If you didn’t know already, I hate mushrooms. I don’t like the taste, the smell and probably everything about it. I ended up giving it to Latif, who ate them gladly. His Baked Rice was okay too, but I think the rice was too dry? Latif loved it though, so maybe it’s just me.

We had only gone there once before this since we started dating, and we didn’t have ice-cream for desert then. This time however, we had a Cookie Summit! We only ordered one, since the glass was really tall and there were tons of ice cream with many different chocolate delights in there! YUM! Latif finished it up for me. The entire meal cost us about $50. It was definitely worth it, though.

Before sending me back home, we went to an Apple store and looked around. Ever since the new 120GB iPod Classic came out a few months ago, I have been dying to have one. I was browsing it at the store when Latif came up to me and told me that he was getting it for me at the end of the month. I was confused and was like, “What for?” And he shrugged, “Just because.” I was ecstatic! :D I’m sure most of you would probably wonder why I wouldn’t just have the iPod Touch, which is probably better? Well if you must know, I’m all about the space/storage. I love having tons of music and videos in one go!

I’m exhausted, but I had a great time. I hope Latif’s next day off won’t be that far away from now.

Happiness is like a Butterfly.

I don’t think anyone would take the time to read my about page, because well, it’s long and boring. But if you did read it, you would probably know that my boyfriend is an aspiring song writer and script writer. Currently, he has a lot of work on his hands. Apart from contributing his song writing skills for a friend’s debut album, he’s also in the works of completing a script for a local TV-Movie. He still has a long way to go in this business - he is just getting started.

And because of all the work that I just mentioned, we seldom get to spend time together. We would meet up for only a few hours each week, talk on the phone for less than 15 minutes and send 3 text messages to each other each day. Honestly, I am bothered by this. I mean, I do understand that he has a lot of work to do, and a whole bunch of things to go through before he can succeed in the business. I understand, because I do want him to reach his dreams and only God knows how much I want to help him succeed. But sometimes, I feel lonely.

I can see though, that he’s trying to spend as much time with me as possible, like how he would still call me at the end of the day even when he’s exhausted after just coming home from work. So maybe it’s just me, being over-sensitive?

I might be rambling, so I apologize if you’re just as confused as I am.

Chun-Li rocks!

I went out to the city last night with the boyfriend. It was exhausting, but incredibly fun! We actually met up earlier that afternoon to sort of accompany his 19 year-old adorable sister (along with her boyfriend) to register for ITE’s April intake. After registering and buying uniforms and such, they went their own way to find a present at Junction 8 for a friend’s birthday. My boyfriend and me however, decided to travel to The Cathay to watch a movie!

His other sister, Abby works at the Cineplex (Cinema Complex) over there, so we had free tickets! I wanted so bad to see My Bloody Valentine 3D, but Abby had already printed out the tickets for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li before hand. I did not complain though, since they were free! :D Abby even sent us free popcorn and drinks to our seats!

Honestly, although I did not complain on having to watch Street Fighter, I had a feeling that I would probably not like the movie since I’m not really a huge fan of action movies. But Chun-Li definitely made me eat back my words! I have to admit that the movie is by far the best action movie I have ever seen my entire life. Seriously. Kristen Kreuk was phenomenal, and Edmund Chen? I was like, “Ooh, a local actor!” when I first saw him on the screen. And an incredible one at that!

I definitely recommend watching Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. I am still not a fan of action movies, so I understand if you are also not one, but you should watch this one. Because I did and I loved it!

Books!

So I received a $35 Popular Bookstore voucher as a Teacher’s Day gift from the kindergarten I’m working part-time at and have been thinking on using it to buy new books to read. I haven’t been able to just sit in a corner on a rainy day just to read. University has really been hectic.

I have been reading since I could read. I love books to death. I used to spend every single second of my free time just reading. I also remember asking my Mum when I was little to buy as many books as she possibly could every month. The $50 voucher that my Dad received for returning a lost laptop to its owner had also been used by me to splurge on none other than books! :D

Anyway, I was thinking that maybe I should buy and start reading the Twilight series. I loved the movie so much and I’m sure I will like the books as well. I have read mixed reviews though, about reading the books after watching the movie. It’s said that it will ruin your reading experience, but we’ll see how my experience will go. Heh. :D

9 months, and all will be over.

I received my exam results of the previous semester this morning. As I’ve expected: straight A’s. :) I have to admit that the subjects/modules for that said semester were quite manageable. The papers however, were not as easy. I had managed, however. :D I called my parents a few hours ago to tell them of the news, but I can’t wait to actually show the slip to them. I’m so thankful for the A’s, as I’ve worked really, really hard for them.

I have a new obsession: Twilight! To be honest, I’ve never read the books, and still don’t. But the movie was awesome! And though I agree that Robert Pattinson is fantastic, I think Kristen Stewart is spectacular as well! I love how she’s laid-back, and is remaining unscathed by Hollywood, unlike the so many actresses out there of her age. I’m a new fan. :D

Wow, 9 months to go and I’ll be officially out of Law School… and all of the drama that comes with it. My grades have been improving, and I’m currently working my ass off to hopefully rank first in class in my last semester. I have been ranking first for the past semesters, but not only am I hoping to do the same in my last one, but I am determined to be the recipient of the prestigious awards that comes with it as well. After all of the drama that I had to go through so far, the proud faces of my parents when they watch me go up the stage more than once will be more than just a good thing to end my Law School with. :)
